Definition:

  • (a.) Alt. of Aromatical
  • (n.) A plant, drug, or medicine, characterized by a fragrant smell, and usually by a warm, pungent taste, as ginger, cinnamon, spices.

Balm


Definition:

  • (n.) Anything that heals or that mitigates pain.
  • (v. i.) To anoint with balm, or with anything medicinal. Hence: To soothe; to mitigate.
