Axis


Definition:

  • (n.) The spotted deer (Cervus axis or Axis maculata) of India, where it is called hog deer and parrah (Moorish name).

Hypaxial


Definition:

  • (a.) Beneath the axis of the skeleton; subvertebral; hyposkeletal.
