(1) Excitation spectroscopy of the 7F0----5D0 transition of Eu3+ and diffusion-enhanced energy transfer are used to study metal-binding characteristics of the calcium-binding protein parvalbumin from codfish.
(2) The results were compared to titrated, oral, double-blind, placebo-controlled food challenges (DBPCFCs) with fresh codfish undertaken in the 10 patients, whereas all control subjects were classified as challenge-negative according to their questionnaires.
