Cortex


Definition:

  • (n.) Bark, as of a tree; hence, an outer covering.

Pallium


Definition:

  • (n.) A large, square, woolen cloak which enveloped the whole person, worn by the Greeks and by certain Romans. It is the Roman name of a Greek garment.
