Oestrus


Definition:

  • (n.) A genus of gadflies. The species which deposits its larvae in the nasal cavities of sheep is oestrus ovis.
  • (n.) A vehement desire; esp. (Physiol.), the periodical sexual impulse of animals; heat; rut.

Definition:
