Circumference


Definition:

  • (n.) The line that goes round or encompasses a circular figure; a periphery.
  • (n.) A circle; anything circular.
  • (n.) The external surface of a sphere, or of any orbicular body.
  • (v. t.) To include in a circular space; to bound.

Definition:

  • (n.) A ray, or outer floret, of the capitulum of such plants as the sunflower and the daisy. See Ray, 2.
  • (n.) The barbs of a perfect feather.

  • (n.) The movable limb of a sextant or other angular instrument.
